Zombie Crawl Costume Creations

It might look like a zombie apocalypse at Downtown Reno whenever Zombie Crawl comes around. For the twelfth time in a row Crawl Reno held the big event on Saturday.

10 to 15 Thousand people are expected to participate and hit the town for a night of drinking and dancing, but a lot of people say dressing up is their favorite part.

Denise Lester who was dressed up as a saloon girl zombie said, "We do try and look beautiful and dead, yes. I mean dead is bad unless you're looking beautiful."

"You definitely have to go out, I wasn't coming with no make up for sure. I wanted to be all out for sure. That's the fun of it. Just to see everybody dressed up having a good time," said Zombie Crawl first timer Alexis Lanier.

Some people say they have their costumes planned months in advanced, but some last-minute folks had the option of having their make-up done for them right on the spot. Body Paint Factory does special effects makeup for events. Its founder, Josh Prater says he and his team have been working with Crawl Reno for its big event for several years.

When people see Body Paint Factory they can pay an average of $10 to $30 to be completely Zombified. It only takes about 10 to 15 minutes depending on what a person wants. People can get hand-made skin pieces, veins, and fake blood layered on their skin. Prater says Zombie Crawl and other events they work at gives the company a chance to share what local artists can do.

"The Body Paint Factory formed with the idea of bringing artists together within our little niche industry and operating as a company and helping to grow the art instead, of all the local artists competing together, and it's just worked out great."
