Authorities in North Carolina say that an 11-year-old with a machete stopped a three-person home invasion according to a news release Friday.
According to the Associated Press (AP), the child was alone in his home in Mebane when a woman knocked on the door.
They say at the same time a man entered the home by breaking a window.
The AP says the man then grabbed the homeowner's pellet gun and forced the boy into a closet.
They say the child then got a machete and struck the man in the back of the head.
The AP says the boy was then kicked in the stomach and the head by the man.
They say the intruder and the woman then ran to a second man standing at a car and fled when the intruder noticed he was bleeding.
Authorities say 19-year-old Jataveon Dashawn Hall faces multiple charges including kidnapping when he's released from the hospital.
