Auto vs Pedestrian Accident Critically Injures Woman

California Highway Patrol reports a 38-year-old man Sacramento man is injured after a crash at US-50 at Slippery Ford Road in South Lake Tahoe.

Officials say the driver of a 2007 Ford was driving eastbound on US-50, east of Slippery Ford Road at an unsafe speed. The driver took a sharp curve and lost control of the car, traveling straight as the roadway curved to the left. The right rear of the car struck the guardrail located to the south of US-50, then hit a sign and marker. 

The car continued to travel, eventually rolling over on a rock embankment. The driver was ejected and landed on the rock embankment. The car came to a stop on its wheels, with the left front wheel landing on the driver's right hand. 

The driver was transported to Renown with serious injuries.
