The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is temporarily closed due to an explosive device being delivered for disposal. The office will reopen sometime after 1:30 p.m.
Authorities say the Carson City Sheriff’s Office is taking every precaution necessary to ensure the device is safely removed. The Tahoe Douglas Bomb Squad will retrieve the device and dispose it.
Deputies say do not deliver explosive devices for disposal to the Sheriff’s Office.
To properly dispose explosive devices call dispatch at (775) 887-COPS (2677) or for emergencies call 9-1-1 and assistance will be provided.
