The National Weather Service in Elko released a special weather statement on Wednesday afternoon, after a funnel cloud was spotted near Argenta, along I-80.
They said the Lander County Sheriff's Office reported a cold air funnel cloud in the area, a phenomena that happens during weak thunderstorms and showers.
They said on rare occasions, the funnel cloud can reach the ground and become a weak tornado.
The National Weather Service urges residents to take threats from funnel cloud seriously and seek shelter if you see one approaching, since they can cause property damage and injuries.
