The United States Forest Service (USFS) in the Tahoe National Forest says crews are fighting a fire that's burning southeast of the Sugar Pine Reservoir.
They said it's currently at 25 to 35 acres and there's no containment at this time.
USFS said crews started the initial attack on Friday and air tankers have been doing retardant drops throughout the day.
There's currently over 100 personnel fighting the blaze.
They said crews from Cal Fire and Foresthill Fire Protection District are assisting.
USFS says the cause of the Sugar Fire is under investigation.
They said Sugar Pine Road (Forest Road 10) is closed to the public until further notice.
This is a developing story.
