U.S. Adds 1.8 Million Jobs in a Sign That Hiring Has Slowed

Starting this week the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) will begin sending out reemployment services and eligibility assessment notifications to selected unemployment insurance claimants.

The program would put people in touch with a representative virtually to help connect them to job search opportunities.

As our economy reopens, they expect more people to reenter the work force, either doing the same job they were before or retraining to do something new. DETR will be keeping track of those searches.

Starting May 1st, selected unemployment insurance claimants must complete work searches on a weekly basis. It's a requirement of the unemployment system, that was stopped due to the pandemic. In just a month it will be back -- that means claimants will again have to keep track of their job searches.

Records should include, but are not limited to date of contact, type of work, method of contact, name of businesses contacted. If you fail to provide weekly work search activity records, it could result in a delay or denial of your benefits.

Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) claimants will also be asked if they are looking for work and to prevent any issues, it may be a good idea to keep a list of businesses you contact when looking for work.
