The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested two California residents in connection with several car burglaries at trailheads at Lake Tahoe and in the Carson Valley.
Deputies say 33-year-old Carolyn Brinkman of Newark and 35-year-old Harvis Berry of Elk Grove stole cash and credit cards from cars and then bought gift cards among other items at area stores.
Deputies say on Sunday the duo broke into cars at the Jacks Valley trailhead and then drove to Carson City where they stopped by deputies.Â
Deputies say after a search warrant was issued, they found burglary tools and over $6,000 in gift cards inside the car.Â
Both suspects were arrested and charged with four counts of vehicle burglary and four counts of fraudulent use of a credit card.
Bail was set at $112,000 for both suspects.
