CHP-South Lake Tahoe (trooper dragged)

A driver dragged a California Highway Patrol officer after they were stopped for suspicion of DUI.

On December 11, officers attempted to stop a driver on Pioneer Trail because of the suspicion of DUI.

According to an online post, CHP-South Lake Tahoe says the driver resisted arrest, then entered his car, and fled from troopers.

Authorities say when the driver fled from the scene, an officer was dragged a short distance by the car while attempting to detain the suspect. The CHP officer suffered an unknown injury as a result.

Eventually, agencies got a warrant and arrested Aidan Anthony Bissell at the Kirkwood Ski Resort.

Bissell faces alleged charges of multiple felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, resisting arrest with injury, felony evading, and driving under the influence, according to authorities.

The case is now being handled by the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office.
