An elementary school teacher has been arrested on multiple counts of sexual conduct, including relations with two high school students.Â
Tennille Whitaker, an elementary school teacher at Wells Elementary School in Wells, Nevada was arrested Monday June 5th after an extensive investigation, according to the Elko County Sheriff's Office.Â
During the investigation, the Sheriff's Office says they discovered that Whitaker had had 'sexual conduct' with at least two male students over an approximately two year period. The Elko Daily Free Press reports that the two alleged victims were high school students, age 16 and 18 at the time.Â
Charges also include sexual conduct between certain employees of the school and volunteers, in addition to the charges involving students, for 8 charges total.
Whitaker was released Tuesday on $160,000 bail.Â
KTVN has reached out to the Elko County School District. The Superintendent, Jeff Zander, did tell the Elko Daily Free Press that Whitaker was placed on administrative leave with pay pending a full investigation.Â
