The FAA and NTSB are investigating a small plane crash that happened near the Placerville Airport Sunday.
Authorities say the Cessna 172 crashed under unknown circumstances right after takeoff.
The pilot, who was the only person on board, was not hurt. A deputy with the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office says the unidentified pilot was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The plane sustained major damage.
