Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Sparks Police Department, Storey County Sheriff's Office and Nevada State Police conducted the first operation of their I-80 and USA Parkway Traffic Safety Operation on September 15.
The operation took place between Vista Boulevard and USA Parkway on I-80 and included the USA Parkway area of the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.
It focused on improving traffic flow and addressing driving behavior that puts motorists at risk and contributes to congestion.
Here are the results of the first operation:
- Total traffic stops: 239
- Total citations: 179
- Total arrests: 6
- Total DUI arrests: 0
Drivers can expect increased law enforcement presence in the area as the joint operation continues.
