Our Someones 2 Know are two people you may recognize - from their decades of work in TV and film.  Arianne Zucker - who goes by Ari - and Shawn Christian moved to Lake Tahoe during the pandemic and together created Aloha Life Coaching. They offer adventure-based health and wellness retreats, one-on-one sessions, youth empowerment workshops and more.

We caught up with Ari and Shawn on a cold, winter morning near South Lake, where – snowshoes on - they are crunching through the white stuff and loving every minute of it.

Life coaches Christian and Zucker believe any season outdoors can be used for good.

"We bring people outside," explains Zucker, "Because we find that people really find their true nature in nature."

Ari credits Shawn for that motto. The couple are partners in business and in life - they are engaged to be married and love sharing the transformative power of the outdoors and a creative mindset with clients.

"And then ultimately, they get to do this sense of self-discovery,” exudes Christian, "'Cause as a coach, I don't tell people what to do. I just don't. I listen, learn and guide."

Zucker and Christian both have acted in dozens of movies and TV shows - including the soap Opera Days of Our Lives. They now use the roadblocks they faced along the way to inform their coaching.

"I've been in the entertainment business for 30+ years and everyone is like - we don't want you, we don't need you - you're too this, you're too that,” Shawn recalls.

As life coaches Zucker and Christian say they help people discovery something about themselves they had seen before. "We hear all the time, 'thank you for being there, thank you for pushing me to this limit, thank you for helping me get this next position in my job.'”

As certified life coaches, Shawn and Ari have worked with clients in the tree tops, on the water, in the snow, one-on-one. "Sometimes, (we) literally hold their hands to help them through."

Plus, team-building with groups of adults and youth;

"I have a deep affinity for kids," Christian confides, “I think quite often they are put into circumstances that are really, really difficult and feel beyond their control.”

Ari and Shawn say they're in it to help create positive change…

"Enriching yourself within so you can elevate the world around you,” affirms Zucker. "Don't just do it for yourself, try to make the world a better place," adds Christian.
