It's Valentine's Day and as you'd expect for local flower shops, orders just keep coming in. If you're a last minute shopper, you might still have a chance to get something for your loved one.

Roses continue to be the all-time best seller. Just Friday morning, Flowers By Patti had over 100 deliveries scheduled and the number just kept going up. They say, Friday isn't about the flowers only.

“It’s just fun to walk up to their door or walk into their office and hand people flowers, they do nothing but smile at you,” says Chuck Vellone, a driver.

They usually have one driver a day here at the shop. On Valentine ’s Day they have six. They also have four additional people working.

They say a holiday like Valentine's Day is weeks in the making but it's all worth it. This year people are spending an average of $120 an order and that is also great for business.

“It’s imperative that is a big day, cause its quiet in the summer and spring,” said Naomi Cardy, a florist.
