If you've been to Skipolini's, you've probably heard about their "Prego" Pizza - it's their trademark pie, known as the "labor-inducing masterpiece."

The story goes back to 1981, where a very pregnant woman came into the East Bay location and asked for help.  The owner's solution?  A four-pound pizza topped with just about every ingredient in the shop, with extra garlic, onions and a sprinkling of herbs on top.

"That night she went into labor and the rest is history," said Reno Skipolini's Manager Todd Fune.

There are numerous testimonials of women who have had the pizza and gone into labor shortly after.

"We have women coming in here daily to get the "prego" pizza and countless times we've had women come back with the "prego" baby afterward," Fune said.

It's the reason mom-to-be (and wife of our KTVN chief photographer) Brandy Lindley found herself there the night before her due date.

"I found out about it through a co-worker and then I went online and found we had a location here," she said.  "I read some testimonials and decided to come and try it.  We're ready to meet our baby girl; we're up for anything."
