Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval says he won't make an endorsement in the gubernatorial race.     Â
The Republican, term-limited Sandoval confirmed his decision to The Associated Press in a statement Thursday.    Â
Attorney General Adam Laxalt is the Republican gubernatorial hopeful.     Â
Clark County commission chairman Steve Sisolak is the Democratic candidate.          Â
The race has drawn in millions in outside spending and is a high-stakes battle for both parties.     Â
The governor's race is one of eight targeted in a $20 million effort from the Democratic Governors Association with the hope that governors could improve the party's chances of winning congressional seats.    Â
The next governor will have the power to approve or reject Nevada's next congressional maps drawn after the 2020 census - changes that could help set control of Congress for the following decade.
