The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says this week a man was listed as a habitual criminal and sentenced to life in prison.
The DA's Office says 36-year-old Cody Eldon Meilike must serve at least 12 years and four months for drug trafficking and two felony eluding charges before he's eligible for parole.
The DA's Office says those three new charges are his eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth felonies in this case.
This week's sentencing stems from a July 2, 2019 incident after he eluded Reno Police officers twice after being told to pull over his car.
In each instance, authorities say Meilike sped away from officers, who eventually terminated their pursuits due to Meilike's dangerous driving in densely populated neighborhoods.
The DA's Office says during the second time, Meilike crashed his car into another one. He then ran away and was caught after a short pursuit.
Authorities say they found 5 grams of methamphetamine in Meilike's pants.
He pleaded guilty to the two above charges.
His prior convictions included attempted rape, theft, fraud, failure to register as a sex offender, felony eluding and forgery.
