According to RTC, there were human remains found at the SouthEast Connector project on Wednesday.
Officials say the remains are believed to be at least 50 years old, but could be much older, and they are not considered to be suspicious.
Representatives from local tribes have responded and are taking control of them, handling the remains respectfully and in accordance with tribal practices. Following established protocols, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office was also contacted.
The discovery of the remains has not impacted construction.
