All schools in Incline Village will be canceled on Monday August 23rd due to hazardous air quality.
The Washoe County School District sent a message out on Sunday evening to parents and staff members to inform them of the day being canceled.
This includes Incline Elementary, Incline Middle and High School.
The Washoe County School District's message read the following...
“Good evening, this is the Washoe County School District with an important message for our Incline Village Families and Staff for Monday, August 23.
“Due to the air quality reaching the hazardous level and projections for the air quality to remain at a hazardous or very unhealthy level through most of Monday, all schools in Incline will be canceled on Monday, August 23. This is due to smoky conditions from nearby wildfires.
“Once again, for Monday, August 23 all schools in Incline Village will be closed and classes will be canceled.
“Thank you.”
