WRITE A BRIEF (TWO TO THREE SENTENCES) SUMMARY OF YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD ENABLE YOU TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THIS OFFICE:  My professional career spans 40 years as a civil and traffic engineer for city and county government – most notably employment with the City of Reno for 25 years designing/building infrastructure projects and reviewing land development proposals.  My community involvement includes serving on the boards of non-profit organizations and appointed positions on Washoe County advisory boards for human services, community development, transportation planning, and the library system.

WHAT IS YOUR TOP PRIORITY IF ELECTED?  Public safety.

IN JUST A FEW SENTENCES: WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM FACING OUR COUNTY, AND HOW WOULD YOU FIX IT? 

The most serious regional hazard is that of wildland fires. Many communities in County Commission District 2 are at risk. Our emergency service providers need a seamless communications system, proper equipment and technology, training, and adequate staffing – with the support of the county emergency management team. 

HOUSING AND RENT PRICES ARE AT RECORD HIGHS. WHAT’S YOUR PLAN TO HELP EASE THE HOUSING CRUNCH IN WASHOE COUNTY? 

Increase the supply of a variety of types of housing by working in cooperation with the cities of Reno and Sparks, Reno Housing Authority, and other community stakeholders.
