A group called Senior Strong met in Reno today to hear some war stories and to thank veterans for their service to our country. They met at the St. Albert's church in northwest Reno and the event drew quite a crowd.
“This is our way of saying thank you. These men are both in their 90's,” said Marilyn Murphy who organized it. “These brave men have created a free world for us and this is a big thank you to them and to all veterans who have served.”
One of the veterans honored tonight wrote a national best selling novel called “Churchill's Secret Agent. The other recounted when his warplane was under attack during World War II.
Donations collected tonight will go to Honor Flight Nevada that takes veterans to Washington,D.C.
