An attempted murderer wanted in Nevada for parole violation was arrested in Mexico.

Mexican immigration officials arrested Robert Timothy Barfield on December 16th in Monterrey, Mexico.

Barfield was convicted of attempted murder in 2004 after firing shots at Nevada State Patrol Troopers who had pulled him over for a traffic stop.

Barfield is reportedly a member of the Norteno gang according to a release from the U.S. Marshals Service for the District of Nevada.

He was granted parole in November of 2021 and fled from supervision in December of 2022.

A fugitive investigation conducted by the Nevada State Police Fugitive Intelligence Unit, The U.S. Marshals Service in Reno, USMS in Monterrey, Mexico and Mexican immigration authorities resulted in Barfield being located and arrested.

He was deported by Mexican immigration officials and given to U.S. Marshals at the U.S./Mexico border in San Diego.Â
