An eight-year-old boy was flown to Renown in unknown condition after falling 30 feet from a chairlift at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort on Sunday.

It happened on the Grandview chairlift at around 1:20 p.m., according to a post on Facebook from the Lake Valley Fire Protection District.

Because of the age of the boy and the distance of the fall, air transport was requested.

Ski Patrol responded right away, provided first aid, and took the boy to the landing zone.

LVFPD Battalion 7 and Medic 7 arrived at the landing zone with CALSTAR Air Medical Services and determined the boy should be immediately taken to the hospital.
