UPDATE - APRIL 2:
The man who passed away at Kirkwood Mountain Resort on Saturday has been identified by the Alpine County Sheriff and Coroners office.
In a Facebook post, the Alpine County Sheriff's Office said that deputies were called to Kirkwood Mountain Resort on March 29, at approximately 1220 hours, in response to a snowboard accident report.
When deputies arrived at the Kirkwood Medical Clinic, they saw a male patient, age 25, who had suffered severe fatal head injuries.
Deputies say at 12:49 p.m., the man was declared dead on scene at the clinic.
The deceased man was identified as Corona, California resident Roman Lacayo. His next of kin has been notified.

The death of a 24-year-old California man at Kirkwood Mountain Resort on Saturday, March 29, was confirmed on Tuesday.
They say that a serious medical occurrence on their intermediate trail, close to chair 4, prompted their Ski Patrol to respond.
The guest was taken to the Barton Medical Clinic, which is located in the Base section of Kirkwood.
After receiving emergency care and additional evaluation upon arriving at the clinic, the man passed away and was declared deceased.Â
