Homewood Mountain Resort says its new gondola is on track to be installed next year.
According to Homewood's website, the building of the new gondola is included as part of the Master Plan Project. It's expected to replace the Madden Chair and will take guests to the future Mid Mountain Lodge.
"We are currently in the permitting and pre-construction preparation phase. Site work will begin once we receive building permits and secure construction scheduling," Homewood says.

APRIL 4, 2025:
After taking a season off due to discussions with the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency - Homewood Mountain Resort will be back next season.
The resort will open, however, without a new gondola. While plans are still in place to build a new gondola, skiers and snowboarders looking forward to it will have to wait awhile.
According to Homewood's website, the building of the new gondola is included as part of the Master Plan Project and is expected to replace the Madden Chair.
Preparations will be made this summer to begin construction in summer of 2026. At this time, officials don't expect any disruption to the ski experience for the next season.
