The Tahoe National Forest stopped forward progress on a pair of small wildfires burning near Stampede Reservoir on Saturday.

The Canyon Fire burned a half-acre before forward progress was stopped.

In a post on their Facebook page, the U.S. Forest Service - Tahoe National Forest says the fire is boxed in with retardant, and ground resources are working to gain access.

Meanwhile, the Stampede Fire burned a quarter of an acre before forward progress was stopped.

Ground resources are on scene, wrapping up suppression work.

The cause of both fires is under investigation.
