Placer County Sheriff's are reporting a traffic stop that turned into an arrest, after the driver admitted to having a hidden gun.
The stop took place on Monday, January 20. A Placer County Sheriff's deputy noticed a pick-up driving with expired registration in Colfax.
The driver, 38-year old Laura Massey, was talking with the deputy when she revealed that she had a hidden gun tucked under her arm, along with five bullets.
The gun is being classified as a "zip gun" by the Placer County Sheriff's Office, defined as a "firearm that was not made by a firearms manufacturer or gunsmith and in some cases is not immediately recognizable as a firearm."
Massey, who is a convicted felon, was arrested and booked into jail on three felonies related to possessing the gun, as well as two misdemeanors.
