A crash earlier this month in Lyon County left a man dead, and the Nevada State Police have released details of what happened.
NSP says a 2017 Toyota Rav4 was heading south on Riverboat Road onto U.S. 50, while a 2017 Ford F-250 was heading east on U.S. 50, approaching the intersection.
The driver of the Toyota Rav4, identified as 66-year-old Samuel Diaz of Dayton, failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign onto U.S. 50, and the F-250 and Rav4 collided.
Diaz was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both the driver and passenger of the Ford-250 were taken to an area hospital with reportedly non-life-threatening injuries.
The Nevada Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
