The Washoe County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) has shared information regarding an arrest that resulted in the recovery of a vehicle stolen in California.

According to a Facebook post from WCSO, on Thursday, May 29 around 5:45 p.m. deputies were alerted to the presence of a possible stolen vehicle. A records check confirmed that the vehicle was reported stolen.

Deputies made a traffic stop of the vehicle, and arrested the driver, Joseph Hernandez.

Hernandez was booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility on the charges of:

  • Possession of a stolen motor vehicle
  • Possession of a controlled substance (1st offense)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

WCSO deputies have made arrangements to get the SUV back to its owner.
