A car crashed into an apartment in Sparks, Wednesday afternoon.

The Sparks Fire Department responded to the incident. It happened at the corner of Sparks Boulevard and Tioga Pass Drive just after 1:30 p.m.

One woman had to free herself from the car after being briefly trapped.

She suffered minor injuries and was treated on the scene.

Police say that two cars were heading northbound on Sparks Boulevard approaching Henry Orr Parkway.

One of the cars, a black Chevy Suburban, attempted to merge into the other lane where a white Toyota 4-Runner was.

The 4-Runner swerved as the merge was being made and lost control of the car, crashing into the apartment.

Someone was in the apartment at the time of the crash, but there was no one in the room that the Toyota crashed into.

All cars remained on scene, and no one was taken to the hospital.

Authorities are asking for the public to avoid the area while they investigate the crash.
