Today is Small Business Saturday, and the City of Reno thanked people for making the effort to shop local.
In a post to their X page, the City said that by shopping local people are not only contributing to the growth of small businesses, but also finding unique products and services.
"This holiday season, share the creativity and passion that our Biggest Little Businesses have to offer!" said the post.
Small Business Saturday was started in 2010 by American Express and has been officially co-sponsored by the Small Business Administration since 2011.
Historically, reported projected spending among U.S. consumers who shopped at independent retailers and restaurants on Small Business Saturday reached an estimated $17.9 billion according to the 2022 Small Business Saturday Consumer Insights Survey.
