The Nevada DMV will temporarily suspend 'Walk-In Wednesday' services in several cities, including Reno, starting this week due to heat.
The DMV says starting July 10, 2024, it will move Wednesday services to appointment-only until temperatures reach more typical levels, at which point Walk-In Wednesdays will resume.
In order to accommodate customers who would usually visit on Wednesdays, the four Las Vegas offices will only open their books for Wednesday appointments on Tuesday afternoons.
The DMV offers certain services – such as the issuance of movement permits, payment of debts, and some ID card services – without an appointment. These services will continue and remain unaffected.
The DMV’s “Walk-In Wednesdays” began in 2023 and allow customers to visit a major metropolitan office on Wednesdays without pre-scheduled appointments – instead, customers scan QR codes at the office to join a virtual queue which manages the office’s traffic.
