The Reno Fire Department knocked down a fire at the Meadow Wood Apartment Complex just before 11 p.m. Wednesday night.
When they got there, they found a burned out condensation pump.
Officials say the pump was right next to the HVAC intake system so it sucked in the smoke and spread it throughout the apartment unit.
No injuries were reported and no one was displaced.
Sparks Fire wants to remind homeowners that its a good idea to get your HVAC system checked and serviced every year.
