Firefighters are now mopping up after a brush fire east of Pyramid Lake and north of Nixon in Pershing County.

The Kumiva Fire started around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and grew to 706 acres before being fully contained on Friday morning. 

No injuries were reported and no buildings were affected. 

There's no immediate word on how the fire started, but fire authorities do tell us lightning has been ruled out.Â
