The Storey County Sheriff's Office and firefighters are on the scene of a half-acre brush fire in the area on Tuesday.
It is happening in the area of the Basalite Mine near Pine Nut Road in Storey County, according to a post by the SCSO on Facebook.
At this time, forward progress on the fire has been stopped, and there is no threat to buildings.
Crews remain on scene mopping up and are expected to be there for at least a few more hours.
People are asked to avoid the area.
