As questions circulate about job cuts, IGT is confirming changes as it works through a broader transition.

IGT said it is making organizational adjustments as it integrates its legacy business with Everi, a move the company says is aimed at improving how it operates and where it focuses its resources.

In a statement provided to 2 News Nevada on Tuesday, IGT said, “As we advance the integration of the legacy IGT and Everi businesses, we are aligning our organization to accelerate innovation, strengthen execution, and position the company for long-term growth.”

The company said the changes include workforce reductions impacting about 700 employees globally, which is about 10 percent of its workforce.

“To support this next phase, we are aligning resources and streamlining our operating model to focus on our highest growth opportunities and strategic priorities, impacting approximately 700 employees globally, 10 percent of our workforce,” the statement said.

IGT said it is offering support to those affected.

“We thank these employees for their contributions and service to our organization, and we are committed to supporting affected employees with severance, outplacement services, and, where possible, opportunities elsewhere within the company,” the statement said. “This strategic realignment positions IGT to move forward with greater focus, agility, and competitiveness.”

The statement was provided by Phil O’Shaughnessy, IGT VP Global Communications, Government Relations and Sustainability, and was sent from Las Vegas. The company said it could not provide additional details.
