The Reno Fire Department (RFD) made quick work of a fire near the area of the Washoe County School District Building this morning.
According to Chief Mooney with RFD, the department was called to Evans Avenue at 10:42 a.m. for a report of a brush fire that was threatening a nearby tree.
Crews arrived on scene and found a brush fire around a quarter of an acre in size, and moving slowly.
Two engines and eight personnel were utilized to fight the fire.
RFD quickly got water on the fire, and were able to extinguish it without it growing larger than the original quarter of an acre.
Although there were initially reports of a suspicious person in the area of the fire, crews were not able to find anyone once they arrived.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
