Devin Lake

A teen and four others face several charges after police say the driver led officers on a pursuit in a stolen car Sunday afternoon.

Around 2 p.m., a Sparks officer was in Reno following a car with a stolen license plate.

Later that afternoon, Sparks Police received a call about a possible DUI at a gas station. Police say the license plate and description of the car matched the vehicle from the previously mentioned incident.

Police were able to conduct a traffic stop near Vista and Baring Blvds. but they say the driver sped off going through several stop signs, red lights, almost hitting several other cars.

Police say the driver did end up hitting a car near Pyramid Highway and Sparks Blvd. but continued to head north where it eventually lost its front left tire. When officers arrived on scene, witnesses saw five people run from the car in separate directions. 

All five people were taken into custody and are now facing multiple charges.

The driver identified as 19-year-old Devin Lake was booked into the Washoe County jail on the following charges:

* DUI-alcohol-1st offense

* Driver Elude endanger person(s)

* Acts Constituting Aggressive driving

* Possession stolen motor vehicle

* Drive without Valid Driver’s license

* Obstruct Police Officer

* Minor in Consumption of Alcohol

* Duty to Stop at Accident

The other suspects in the car were charged with Duty to Stop at Traffic accident, obstructing, and/or minor in consumption of alcohol.
