Inspire Academy Placed on Brief Code Red Lockdown

An incident involving a student prompted a brief Code Red Lockdown at Inspire Academy in Reno Tuesday morning.

WCSD announced the temporary lockdown on its website adding that school police were also on scene.

Eventually, the school resumed normal operations.

The WCSD sent out a Connect Ed phone call to affected families:

This is Principal Carrie McDonald with an important message:

A Code Red lockdown was briefly imposed today, Tuesday, April 23 at our school after an incident involving a student. School Police responded, the situation was quickly diffused, and we returned to normal operations.

Students and staff members were safe throughout, and classes will be dismissed at the usual times today.

School Police will remain on campus for the remainder of the day for the safety of all students and staff. If you have questions or concerns, please call our office
