A man faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison after being convicted of child lewdness.
The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says jurors convicted 37-year-old Leonel Vazquez-Hinojosa of Lewdness with a Child Under 14.
The DA's office says the investigation began in May of 2021 after a witness saw Vazquez-Hinojosa inappropriately touching a 10-year-old girl. Sparks Police responded to the scene, where authorities say Vazquez-Hinojosa stated he “messed up” and “made a mistake.
Sentencing is set for this August, when he will be sentenced to the mandatory prison sentence of life with parole eligibility after 10 years.
