Carson City

For the first time in 33 years, the Carson City Fourth of July fireworks display will not be held at Mills Park.

The 2024 fireworks display will be held at the Eagle Valley Golf Course, located at 3999 Centennial Park Drive, at approximately 9:30 p.m.

The show is being presented by Nevada Rural Counties Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), weather permitting.

This year's ticketed Fourth of July celebration includes a golf tournament, a dinner and a VIP Fireworks viewing option.

Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.nevadaruralrsvp.org, scan the QR Code, or by contacting Molly Walt at (775) 687-4680.

“Starting July 5 of last year, I started looking for a new staging site,” Walt said. “The site that I was looking for was one that could accommodate eight and 10-inch mortars because those are the ‘wow’ factor. You need a large amount of land for the staging site. We exhausted every location that could possibly keep it closer to Mills Park.”

The city also wanted to keep the fireworks display near Mills Park since people enjoy using the park during the day for picnics leading up to the fireworks.

While entrance to the golf course for the viewing does require a ticket, Walt says she expects people will still be able to see the fireworks from all around. Walt said at this time, Carson City Parks and Recreation will not be opening Centennial Park to the public for the fireworks.

Although, RSVP is offering a ticketed VIP dinner and fireworks viewing from the golf course itself.

It was confirmed Monday, June 24, that The Carson City Parks and Recreation Department will be opening a portion of Centennial Park Drive and the lower fields of Centennial Park as an additional option for the public to view the fireworks display.

Carson City 4th of July Map

The gates to the lower fields will be open at 7 .p.m.

No parking of any kind will be allowed in the fallout zone and along Centennial Park Drive for the public's safety.

Trailers, RVS and camping are prohibited.

Open flames, glass bottles are any pets are prohibited from the park for the event.
