With the college football and NFL playoffs ramping up, championship games coming soon, and March Madness around the corner, sportsbooks in the Silver State are preparing to serve bettors.

We spoke with team members at the Peppermill Resort Casino about their prep.

"For NFL, we're always really busy. And then, depending on the teams that are in the playoffs matter. But I think NFL is, you know, the king the king of football, and football is king. So, we do still see the, you know, huge ramp up when we get to the playoffs," said John Haines, Peppermill Casino Sportsbook Director.

Haines says that big games like the playoffs and the Super Bowl always bring a crowd.

Other Sportsbooks in the area are also preparing for an influx of local fans.

"It's a wonderful place to watch a game. We got a brand-new video wall that shows all the different games on big screens. Great sound, new seating. We have kiosks for you if you like the feel of the kiosks. We have a mobile app which offers everything you can bet at the counter," said Steve Mikkelson, Atlantis Director of Race and Sports.

It's not just sportsbook teams that are excited, but the fans as well,

"It's exciting. You know, it's just, you know, you're betting the spread. You got all kinds of options. You know, I go with what I can to try to listen to the analyzers, everybody that you know that is coming up with different picks, you know," said Fred, a Reno Resident.

"I've definitely been here a couple days this week. Depends on whether I win or lose, I suppose. But I'd say it depends on what you like during the NFL season. I'll be here 3 or 4 times a week," said Matthew, a Reno Resident.

"I like betting on a sure thing, which is nothing. And that makes me want to watch the games. And you know, you play. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. So, it it's kind of, it gets my endorphins going," said Chad, from Chico.

There's no better time to head down and support local sportsbooks here in the Biggest Little City.Â
