The May Arboretum Society in Reno is bringing back its annual spring plant sale next month, offering thousands of plants and an early opportunity for members before opening to the public.
The event is set for May 8 and 9. Organizers say May 8 is reserved for members only. The public sale will take place on May 9 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., continuing until plants are sold out.
The sale will include more than across about 300 varieties, with options selected for Northern Nevada growing conditions.
Organizers say the event is a key fundraiser that supports the nonprofit’s ongoing work in maintaining and improving the arboretum and surrounding gardens.
People who attend can expect a wide mix of plants, including selections well-suited for the region. Proceeds from the sale go toward community programs and garden upkeep.
