An application for a special use permit for a battery storage and testing facility has been approved in Churchill County.
The Churchill County Planning Commission heard the proposal Monday night and approved it six to one.
The facility will store end-of-life batteries in an outdoor setting, while also being used for battery testing to see if the batteries still have the capacity to be used later.
