Traffic is stopped on McCarran tonight after a crash involving a bicyclist and two separate cars.
The crash occurred just before 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of McCarran Boulevard and Wedekind Road in Sparks.
According to officials, westbound McCarran is currently closed at Rock Boulevard while they investigate the crash. They expect the closure to last several hours.
The bicyclist has been transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The two drivers have stayed on scene and are cooperating with the investigation.
Neither speed nor impairment were factors in the crash, according to police - they say it appears that the bicyclist may have failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
This investigation is still ongoing - we will provide updates as soon as we receive them.
