The Bureau of Land Management Carson City District and Alpine County Trails Association need volunteers for their National Public Lands Day event.
BLM Carson City says volunteers at the "Our Home Outdoors" event will participate in a “Workday,” which will include interpretative panel installation, painting, trail maintenance, fence building, and a cleanup.
In a release, BLM also stressed the importance of public lands as more than just beautiful landscapes, saying they are essential places for gathering, learning, healing, and building connections.
"Our volunteer event efforts help ensure these cherished areas remain vibrant, healthy, and accessible for generations to come," said BLM Carson City in its release.
The event will be held on Saturday, September 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Airport Road in Markleeville, California.
