The Bureau of Land Management is beginning a public comment period as it develops a herd management area plan for the Silver King Herd Management Area in Nevada.
“The Silver King Herd Management Area Plan will outline objectives for managing health for wild horses on healthy rangelands,” said Caliente Assistant Field Manager Cameron Boyce.
The 30-day public review period will run from May 23 to June 23.
The BLM has prepared an evaluation report that identifies key issues to guide development of the proposed plan.
The report is available for review on the BLM national NEPA Register.
The BLM expects to complete the planning process and adopt a final plan for the Silver King Herd Management Area within about a year, depending on funding and other priorities.
