A brush fire that caused a power outage drew a large response from the Reno Fire Department on Tuesday afternoon as crews worked to keep the flames from spreading near homes.
The call came in at 2:45 p.m., and the first firefighters arrived at 2:54 p.m. Firefighters say the fire grew to about one acre.
Because the fire was close to homes, the department responded with 35 personnel.
Construction sites nearby supplied water to help firefighters, assisting crews as they stopped the fire's forward progress.
No injuries to firefighters were reported, and no damage was reported to surrounding homes.
