A Sun Valley man was arrested after a multi-month drug trafficking investigation led to the seizure of approximately six pounds of methamphetamine, along with heroin and cocaine.
The Regional Narcotics Unit announced the arrest of 31-year-old Jose Silverio following an investigation into drug trafficking activity in the area of El Rancho Drive and Sun Valley Boulevard.
On Aug. 27, detectives coordinated with Washoe County Sheriff's Office K9 deputies to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle associated with the investigation. Detectives recovered approximately four pounds of methamphetamine and 56.89 grams of heroin from inside the vehicle.
Silverio was the driver and was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
Following the arrest, detectives obtained a search warrant for Silverio's home. The search yielded an additional two pounds of methamphetamine and 16.21 grams of cocaine.
The total seizure included approximately six pounds of methamphetamine, 56.89 grams of heroin and 16.21 grams of cocaine.
Silverio was booked into the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Detention Facility on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance, transport of a controlled substance, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
