Carson City CERT

The Carson City Community Emergency Response Team is once again offering its free basic training academy and is accepting applications now.

The academy starts March 12, and includes training in disaster preparedness, fire safety, emergency medical operations, light search and rescue and more.

You'll need to attend 26 hours of classroom instruction delivered over 6 sessions in 2 weeks to graduate. You'll also be encouraged to participate in CERT activities throughout the year.

You do not need to live in Carson City to sign-up, and no prior training is required. If you're between 16 and 17 years old, you will need a release signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Applications must be turned in by February 26 and spots are limited. To learn more or to get an application, send an email to cert@carsoncity.gov.
